Route:

Today's stage was the longest stage of the race. It started directly at the bivouac at Chami, Mauretania. It started with fast and sandy tracks before getting into an ocean of sand dunes. Finally a small track led the competitors to the foothills of Atar and the climb to Azougui col. After 433 km of special stage they reached the bivouac at Azougui, Mauretania, where they will spend the next 2 nights, because stage 8 will be a loop even deeper into Mauretanian desert.
